Until now, the hearing aid users have been forced to accept that no matter how good hearing aid is, it will always sound like a hearing aid. It is often described as artificial and hearing through the microphone.

Getting used to a hearing aid can be a stressful experience for a first time wearer . Widex Moment has found a way to deliver the most natural and undistorted sound ever offered in a hearing aid. From this “Moment” all other hearing aids will be compared to this one.

Why does a hearing aid sound like a hearing aid?

One of the reason lies in the fact that the sound processed in the hearing aid reaches the ear drum later than the directly transmitted sound that travels through the ear. Hence the sounds arrive out of sync and sound is distorted.

How does Widex Moment work ?

It adapts the ZeroDelay Technology provides an ultrafast signal pathway which to eradicate the problem of delay-based distortion, resulting in clear natural sound. The ultrafast signal pathway reduces the processing delay between microphone and receiver to below 0.5 msec . Then the ZeroDelay engine combines the input from all key components into one pure, seamless sound experience, including the Dual-mic input control which ensures the optimal use of the input from the dual microphone array, the ZeroDelay Accelerator and Amplifier. This part of the process ensures pure and clear sound .

New Receiver Technology

Unlike most receivers, which are made of plastic, the new receivers in the Widex Moment mRIC RD are engineered from stainless steel. This means that they can be manufactured smaller , providing better comfort and durability.

Natural Sound powered by Artificial intelligence

Moment is an artificially intelligent hearing aid that can learn how an individual user wants to hear in the moment and update their sound experience through the SoundSense Learn App.

SoundNav

When sounds enter the hearing instruments, SoundNav intelligently classifies them into 7 key listening environments: quiet, conversation in quiet, conversation in a small group, conversation in a crowd, conversation in noise, noise, and music.

Because the places clients work and play are often complex, SoundNav dynamically combines these environments to create thousands of possible combinations – allowing the hearing instruments to seamlessly adjust as the soundscape changes.

MediaNav classifies the signal as music or speech and adjusts the sound accordingly.

With the precise and accurate classification provided by SoundNav, sound core can apply best program suited for each situation , ensuring best sound quality in every time .

Sound Conductor

It uses information about the environment to balance unwanted and distracting background noise, providing excellent quality and comfort and making speech clearer and easier to follow. It uses 3 different steps to achieve this;

• Speech enhancement increases the volume of voices, making it easier to hear people talking.

• Noise reduction dials down distracting background noise to make listening more comfortable.

• Directionality  helps separate noise from speech and also allow hearing instrument wearers know where sounds are coming from.

Conversations can be hard to follow in noisy environments.  SpeechPro, reduces listening effort and improves speech perception , allowing you to converse with confidence even in challenging listing environments.

It starts with Speech Locator, which uses the microphones in both hearing aids to determine where speech is coming from. Then, Speech Focus directs the focal area towards the speech and dynamically adapts to its source.

With speech pro, we are able to separate speech from noise without negatively impacting binaural cues, giving fantastic speech understanding in noisy situations.

Own Voice Processing ( OVP)

The sound of own voice is the most common issues for new hearing aid wearers.    For most hearing aid wearers, the more their hearing aid processed voice differs from their own perception of their own voice, the less comfortable and accepting the experience will be.

To achieve clear speech understanding, hearing aids need to provide appropriate volume and audibility. However, the sufficient amplification often leads to reduced acceptance of own voice. In an attempt to solve the problem, the audiologist reduces the amplification to ensure own voice sounds more natural. This, of course, reduces the audibility of speech.

The Signia NX hearing aids uses OVP which detects hearing aid wearer’s own voice and process separately from external sounds. This means when the wearer is speaking, the hearing aid detects and apply dedicated setting different from when only external sounds are present, providing comfortable own voice and best audibility of external speech.

Direct Streaming Connectivity

Signia Nx uses 2.4 GHz Bluetooth to connect to your iPhone so you can listen to phone calls and music directly through the hearing aids without any additional accessories.

In addition, streaming is available for Android Smartphones and TV via the StreamLine Mic and Stream Line TV
